Pedri sustains right quadriceps injury
FC Barcelona first team player Pedri has sustained a right quadriceps injury. He is unavailable for selection and his recovery will determine his return.
The Canary Islander played in both league games to date, against Getafe and Cádiz respectively. He actually scored the blaugrana's first competitive goal of the 23/24 season against the Andalusian side, when he broke the deadlock at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
Another training session with the Villarreal game on the horizon
Xavi Hernández' squad were back at work on Thursday morning for another training season at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The workout started at 9.00am CEST in an attempt to dodge the intense heat currently affecting the city.
The session was part of preparations for this Sunday's game away to Villarreal at the Estadio de la Cerámica (kickoff 5.30pm CEST). Every available first team squad member took part in the workout on the Tito Vilanova pitch.
So, one day closer to the another away league fixture, with the target still the same - to win the game against a tough opponent and come home with the three points.
