Unforgettable US Tour in association with Spotify

Barça have completed a tour in which music also played a major role, bringing together the first team players with artists Daddy Yankee, Anitta and Fuerza Regida, as well as the launch of the exclusive Barça on Tour playlist

The FC Barcelona first team has spent the last two weeks in the United States, enjoying a wonderful preseason tour to charge the batteries ready for the start of official competitions. And they have had a fantastic travel companion in Spotify, the club’s main partner, with a number of actions happening in stadiums and recording studios that have brought football and music together in a revitalising and enriching experience for all.

Barça on Tour Playlist

With Los Angeles as the backdrop, the first event was the launch of the Barça on Tour Playlist, where fans could also vote for their favourite tracks. Additional tracks for the playlist were then decided in a crazy penalty shootout involving the Barça players, Regional Mexican band Fuerza Regida and Brazilian popstar Anitta. This is the first ever playlist in the Barça Hub on Spotify to be created by players, fans and artists in collaboration.

Pedri, Gavi, Raphinha and Balde presented Anitta with a personalised shirt, while Ansu Fati, Araujo and Dembelé met up with Fuerza Regida.


Meeting with Daddy Yankee in Spotify studios

On July 26, Spotify invited several special guests to the opening game of the tour at the SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles. Notable attendees included Sofia Richie-Grainge and Elliot Grainge, Noah Beck, Owen Wilson, Helen Owen and Zack Kaltar, Jesus Nalgas, Diego Tinoco, Jake Shane, as well as artists KalanFRFR and Austin Millz.     

Eager to learn a little more about the music production industry, Lewandowski, Pedri, Balde, Ansu Fati and Gündogan also visited the Spotify studios in Los Angeles, where they were met by Daddy Yankee. The star gave the players a hands-on look at the recording process and even got them to join him in a reggaeton jam session, with each player playing an instrument and letting their musical creativity fly.

FC Barcelona and Spotify have just moved into the second year of partnership, and are continuing to create new opportunities to bring together the music and sports worlds like never before. The appearance on the first team shirts of ROSALÍA’s MOTOMAMI logo and also Drake’s OVO symbol, the Matchday Playlists, Spotify Blend and support for the new GLOW music program are just the start of a story that has many more chapters to come.
