Switzerland and Spain to meet in last 16

Crnogorčević's Switzerland finished top of a very tightly contested Group A and will now face Spain, with Cata Coll, Laia Codina, Irene Paredes, Ona Batlle, María Pérez, Aitana Bonmatí, Alexia Putellas, Salma Paralluelo and Mariona Caldentey all in the squad. The game is a 7am start CEST on Saturday.

Bonmatí has particularly excelled, playing all three games and scoring against Costa Rica, but a heavy defeat to Japan in the final game means the Spaniards had to settle for second place in their group.

Crnogorčević featured prominently in all three games for her country, clinching qualification with a 0-0 draw with hosts New Zealand.

Rolfö returns to knockouts

Sweden utterly dominated their group, finishing five points clear of South Africa in second place, with a 9-1 goal difference. Sweden reached the semi-finals last time, but if they are to do that again, they'll have to get past defending champions the USA in what promises to be a cracking game on Sunday at 11am CEST.

Fridolina Rolfö has contributed two goals to the Swedish cause thus far.

Engen and Hansen march on

Norway edged their way into the last sixteen on goal difference ahead of New Zealand. Last time they went out of the competition in the knockout stages to England, and this time they are going to face a very tough test in Japan, who have been one of the most dangerous looking sides of all thus far. That game kicks off at 10am CEST on Saturday.

Both Barça players Engen and Hansen have appeared in every game, with the latter scoring against the Philippines.

Nigeria to face England

Nigeria are into the last sixteen for the second time in a row, with Oshoala one of their standout players and netting a goal in the game that stunned hosts Australia. The Africans are in action on Monday at 9.30am CEST.

And that promises to be a fascinating encounter against European champions England, who won all three games in their group and only conceded one goal. Keira Walsh is sadly out injured since the game with Denmark but Lucy Bronze will be there as the Lionesses seek to go one better than their semi-final appearances in 2015 and 2019.
