Ilkay Gündoğan and Fermín López make Barça debuts

The German international started the game with the young Andalusian coming on in the second half

A night of firsts in the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. On the one hand the blaugranes featured in their first preseason friendly after two weeks of training session and a stomach which forced the cancellation of the first game of the US tour against Juventus. In a pulsating game in Los Angeles, Xavi's team went down to a 5-3 defeat against English club Arsenal.

On the other, there were debuts for two Barça players; Ilkay Gündoğan and Fermín López.

The German international was in the starting XI and looked comfortable in midfield alongside his new team mates. The summer signing played 45 minutes, enough to show glimpses of his undoubted talent.

Fermín, wearing the number 29 shirt, appeared in the second half to make his first appearance for the first team. The Barça Atlètic player came on at half time and did enough to impress coach Xavi Hernández who mentioned the youngster in his post game press conference. Fermín came on at half time before being replaced on 79 minutes by Lamine Yamal.
