2023/24 season second kit in white, inspired by Johan Cruyff
FC Barcelona introduces their second kit for the 2023/24 season, which has an innovative design that pays tribute to the man who developed Barça’s playing style, Johan Cruyff. Based on the second kit worn by the blaugranes during the 1970s, the jersey is predominantly white, and features red and blue stripes on the sleeve cuffs. Just like the first kit harks back to the spirit of the Barça Women’s team that played their first ever game at the Spotify Camp Nou in 1970, the pioneering figure of Cruyff has provided inspiration for this kit.
The new jersey is on sale from today, 26 July, through both the Club’s e-commerce platform and all Barça Stores at Spotify Camp Nou, Canaletes, Passeig de Gràcia, Sagrada Família, Westfield La Maquinista, Parc Central Tarragona, La Roca Village, Poble Espanyol, Barcelona airport T1 and T2, and Centre Comercial Arenas, plus the stores in Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, Platja d’Aro, Salou and Ronda Universitat, and from the new store in the Maremagnum.
The kit is presented as part of the Club’s “Here to lead the way” campaign, which launched with the first kit for the 2023/24 season, a reminder of one of the foundations that make Barça such a unique institution around the world, i.e. to lead the way in everything they do. As such, just like past blaugrana representatives, young FC Barcelona sportspeople will continue to lead and show the way for the Club in the coming years.
An innovative white and an iconic crest
The new jersey is mainly white, but this isn’t the first time Barça has used the colour for their kits. Players like Alcántara, Samitier, César and Kubala, among others, already wore a white jersey between the 1920s and 1970s. When it comes to Cruyff - who developed a new brand of playing style for FC Barcelona - he also wore white on several occasions, like on 1 March 1978 during a UEFA Cup game against Aston Villa, when he captained and led the team. Furthermore, this jersey sees the inclusion of red and blue stripes on the sleeve cuffs and the iconic crest the Club used in 1978.

The Club has made the most of the men’s first team being in Los Angeles for the pre-season tour to present the kit in the city where Cruyff played for a season with the Los Angeles Aztecs in 1979, a team that played in the North American Soccer League from 1974 to 1981.
The kit is completed with blue shorts, and red and blue striped socks, with the word BARÇA and the Nike logo in the centre. The second kit will be on sale with the Spotify logo on the front (the men’s and women’s teams main partner), alongside the Nike logo, with the men’s first team jersey sleeve featuring the Ambilight TV brand and the women’s first team jersey sleeve featuring Bimbo. In addition, the ACNUR logo will still be above the number on the back.
The road to sustainability
From matchday kits and training wear through to collections for fans, Nike’s entire football clothing range for Barça includes sustainable innovations to limit waste, while helping athletes and fans perform their best.
Sustainability is one of the club’s strategic pillars, and based on this approach, FC Barcelona is working to promote sustainable development in every area it is involved. In this case, it is through their streetwear collections and kits, with Nike Football introducing ground-breaking innovation and designs targeting sustainability that will help athletes perform their best. Painstaking research by the Nike design teams led to the creation of a cutting-edge kit, made using Dri-FIT ADV, which allows athletes to move as freely as they want. Over 75% of all Nike Football clothing is manufactured using 100% recycled polyester, meaning football fans can support their favourite team while reducing the impact on the planet.
