Barça the most represented club team at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup

FC Barcelona has 18 players at the tournament, three more than Chelsea

The FIFA Women's World Cup is set to start on July 20 in Australia and New Zealand, and FC Barcelona will be the most represented club team at the tournament. Representing eight different national sides, no fewer than 18 players will be competing for the premium prize in international football.

18 players, two records

Jonathan Giráldez' side had an excellent season, winning the Spanish Super Cup, the Liga, and the Champions League, leading to national squad selectors looking at Barça's ranks when deciding on the 23 players to call up for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. Every squad has now been released, with Barça confirmed as the club side with most internationals at the World Cup with 18.

Chelsea are next with 15 players selected. Other teams providing more than 10 international players are Manchester City, Wolfsburg, Real Madrid, Benfica, Olympique Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Roma, and Arsenal.

The 18 Barça players also represent the Club's largest contingent at any World Cup to date.

Spanish league with third largest representation

Over sixty players from the Spanish Primera División will be at the World Cup, third in terms of representation. First and second are the English Women's Super League and National Women's Super League in the U.S.A. with over 90 and 70 players respectively.
