Barça players discover songs from Spotify’s GLOW music program

Alexia, Mapi, Rolfö, Raphinha, Balde and Pedri name the situations in which they’d like to hear some of the tunes featured on GLOW, Spotify’s global music hub celebrating LGBTQIA+ artists and creators all year round

This Wednesday 28 June Spotify and FC Barcelona are joining forces to celebrate International LGBTQIA+ Pride Day, and they’re doing it with the help of the Barça men’s and women’s football teams. It all revolves around select songs from Spotify’s GLOW music program, which celebrates and amplifies artists from the LGBTQIA+ community all year long.

Alexia, Mapi, Rolfö, Raphinha, Balde and Pedri have played a fun game called “My Music Moods,” in which they listen to different songs featured on the GLOW music hub and have to decide what situation they would listen to them in. Maybe dancing with friends, on a date, in the build-up to a game, celebrating a goal, or on a rainy afternoon.

The songs they discuss include ‘La Alarma’ by Safree, which is now featured in Pedri’s Matchday songs playlist; ‘Síntomas de Prazer’ by Ludmilla; ‘Disturbing You’ by Darkoo and Ayra Starr; ‘Me he pillado x ti’ by Natalia Lacunza and Ana Mena; ‘Golvet i Hallen’ by Oscar Zia; ‘It’s been a little heavy lately’ by Joesef and ‘Homofobia’ by Nacha La Macha and La Húngara, among many others.

The fun videos can be watched on FC Barcelona and Spotify social media, in which the players speak spontaneously and unpredictably, and celebrate the small pleasures of listening to new music.

FC Barceona supports GLOW Spotify’s ‘aways-on’ music program, as football and music are for everyone, no matter who they are, where they live, or what communities they belong to.
