Roger Grimau, new Barça basketball coach
Roger Grimau will be the Barça basketball coach for the next two seasons until 30 June 2025. The former captain of one of the best Barça teams in history will replace Sarunas Jasikevicius who is leaving the Club after three seasons.

Roger Grimau has been the coach of the junior team and Barça Atlètic over the last two seasons in tandem with Vïctor Sada. Previously, from 2018 he was assistant coach of the second team in the LEB Gold and the LEB Silver.
44 year old Grimau has achieved great results with the junior team, recently in the Next Generation Tournament, and also with the second team, with whom he lifted the League EBA title in 2021/22.
Furthermore, youngsters like Dame Sarr and Kasparas Jakucionis have made their debuts for the first team this season and other players have also been coached by Grimau such as James Nnaji, recently selected 31st in the draft. Rafa Villar, Michael Caicedom Agus Ubak and Gael Bonilla have also had minutes with the first team this season.
Success as a player
In his spell as a player at Barça, Roger Grimau was a first team member from 2003 to 2011 and captain. In his time as a player he won the Euroleague, 3 league titles, 3 Copas del Rey, 4 Endesda Super Cups and 3 Catalan Leagues.
