The win in Malaga confirms the Barça basketball team are through to the Liga Endesa final series for the fifth season in a row. Their opponents are Real Madrid, who overcame Joventut de Badalona 3-1 in the semifinal series. Barça are aiming to win their first trophy of the season and 20th Liga Endesa.

If needed, the fourth game will also be played in Madrid on Thursday June 22 at 9pm. A hypothetical fifth deciding game would be played in Barcelona on Sunday June 25 at 9pm. All times CEST.

Fifth final in a row

So, Friday 16 will see Barça start their fifth Liga Endesa final series in a row. 2019 saw a loss to Real Madrid (3-1), while in 2020 they lost to Baskonia, which was played in Valencia due to COVID-19 restrictions.

In 2021, now with Jasikevicius as coach, Real Madrid were beaten 2-0 in a shorter series, again due to COVID-19 restrictions. Last season, 2022, saw a 3-1 series loss to Real Madrid.
