Barça 34-23 Logroño: Copa del Rey champions!
The Copa del Rey is blaugrana again! The Barça handball team won the final against Logroño this Sunday (34-23) and have have now hoisted the trophy a stunning 27 times. This completes a full decade of conquests dating all the way back to Pamplona 2014.
Barça are the utterly dominant force in Spanish handball and that showed again as they were simply magnificent throughout this tournament, defeating Torrelavega in the quarters, Ademar León in the semifinals and then Logroño today, where Janc and Fàbregas led the scoring with five each.
They were simply too good for their opponents in Santander. Logroño held form for the first ten minutes, but once Barça had gone two ahead at 8-6, there was no question where this was going. Emil Nielsen was outstanding in goal as a 7-0 streak shortly before the break as good as settled the outcome.
And Barça refused to ease off after the interval, and by the 35th minutes they were +10 and could start celebrating yet another trophy for the collection.
