Barça 43-29 Torrelavega: Patiently through
Barça have started nicely in the Handball Copa del Rey that's being contested this weekend in Santander. They beat Torrelavega 43-29 in Friday's quarter final, and will now play their semi-final on Saturday at 6pm CEST. They'll be up against Ademar León, who beat Guadalajara in the game played immediately before.
Dika Mem, Wanne, Janc and Cindric, with six goals each, led the scoring in a game that proved tricky early on but Barça gradually got to grips with things, particularly thanks to some very solid goalkeeping by Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas in the second half. He was rightly handed the MVP award afterwards.
Torrelavega proved a very worthy opponent indeed, but the goals started flowing thicker and faster towards the end and the Catalans ended up breaking the 40 goal barrier.
