Barça 3–0 Sporting Huelva: A win and the league title
Barça Women are Liga F champions! The blaugranes claimed another piece of silverware, the domestic league, after beating Sporting Huelva 3-0 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. Jonatan Giráldez's team win the title with four games still to go and with a 100% record in the competition.
When the final whistle sounded, Alexia Putellas, returning after a long spell out due to injury, lifted the trophy in front of the home fans. It is league title number eight for the women's football team and their fourth in a row.
Laia Codina brings the title close
The Barça Women side started the game determined to secure the three points they needed for the league title. The blaugranes dominated the encounter from the opening minutes but they found it hard to create chances against an ultra defensive Sporting Huelva side.
The first good chances fell to Claudia Pina who shot just wide following a good pass from Crnogorčević. Then Salma Paraluello went close before Laia Codina finally opened the scoring with a superb volley from a Pina cross not long before half time.
Alexia's return
In the second half Barça had to wait until the 63rd minute to add a second when Jana scored with a tremendous effort from outside the box. In the 74th minute of the game came the moment Barça Women fans had been waiting for: the return of Alexia Putellas. The Barça captain came back on to the field to replace Claudia Pina after almost 10 months out due to injury. With just minutes remaining, Oshoala made it 3-0 from a pass from Jana to finally secure the league title, the fourth in a row for Barça Women.
