Coviran Granada 55-77 Barça: Professional performance to remain leaders
A great first quarter set Barça on the way to win. Granada managed to match the visitors for the rest of the game, but this proved to be a professional 23rd win in the league. Jakucionis also debuted with the first team.
Unstoppable start
The first quarter in the Palacio de los Deportes in Granada was nigh on perfect, with Barça scoring 22 points with only seven in reply. Satoransky was pulling the strings and Kuric and Mirotić scoring the points, 7-22 at the end of the quarter.
All change in the second quarter as Granada grew and Barça waned, with the lead cut to +5 at one point. Caicedo was making the difference for the home side but the visitors still went in ahead 23-32 at break.
Controlled second half
Little to choose between the sides in the third quarter, with the 15-16 score reflecting just that, as two-pointers were the order of the day, 38-48 going into the fourth.
An effective start to the final quarter saw the lead extended to +15 but Granada weren't giving up and showed heart to cut the lead by five. Not enough, however, as Barça saw out the win, crowned by a three-pointer for Jakucionis on his debut with his first and only touch of the game.
This 23rd Liga Endesa win keeps Barça at the top of the table. Next up, Gran Canaria visit the Palau Blaugrana on 22 April before the EuroLeague Playoffs get underway.
