Ten highlights of the women's league winning season

The fourth consecutive domestic championship included some memorable moments, and here are our favourites

The Barça women have won the league for the eighth time in 12 years, and the fourth on the trot. We celebrate the achievement with a look at the ten most memorable moments of the campaign.

1. Vicky López teenage sensation

Vicky López, a summer signing from Madrid CFF, started the first game of the season, a 2-0 defeat of Granadilla. At 16 years and 19 days she thus surpassed Claudia Pina to become the youngest player ever to appear for the team.

2. Clásico at Di Stéfano

Barça went to Real Madrid and kept alive their one hundred per cent record against the all-whites thanks to a 4-0 win with goals from Crnogorcevic, Patri Guijarro, Rolfö and an own goal.

3. Bruna is back

Back on November 20, Bruna Vilamala returned to active duty after 389 days out with a cruciate ligament injury in the big win over Alavés.

4. Big stage, big win

Atlético Madrid played their game with Barça in the Cívitas Metropolitano, one of the finest stadiums in the world. But it was the Catalans who took the glory with a spectacular 6-1 win.

5. Late one from Lucy Bronze

Real Sociedad very nearly put an end to Barça's enormous winning spree when they came to the Estadi Johan Cruyff. They led at half time, until Marta Torrejón equalised after 62 minutes and Lucy Bronze then converted from a corner to snatch a win in the final minutes.

6. World record

The 7-0 defeat of Levante Las Planas was the 50th in a row in the league, a world record in men's or women's professional football.

7. Jana Fernández returns

Another big comeback from injury was that of defender Jana Fernández, who had been side-lined for 384 days before featuring in the 5-0 defeat of Villarreal.

8. Cata Coll too

Goalkeeper Cata Coll was out for 400 days after tearing cruciate ligaments in her left knee. She replaced  Sandra Paños for the last 15 minutes of the 5-1 defeat of Valencia.

9. MotoClásico

Wearing the Motomami shirt in honour of Rosalía, Fridolina Rolfö scored a penalty to keep the perfect record against Real Madrid alive. It was a close scare though!

10. Alexia back for the title

The Estadi Johan Cruyff witnessed the title being confirmed with a 3-0 defeat of Sporting Huelva, the goals courtesy of Laia Codina, Jana Fernández and Oshoala. And it was also the day the world's greatest player, Alexia Putellas, played her first competitive football after getting injured 299 days before.
