10 games to win La Liga

There are just ten games left in La Liga 2022/23, and unless things go diabolically wrong, at some point during that spell Barça will be confirmed as champions for what would be the 27th time.

But there are still 30 points to play for, more than double the 13 points that currently separate the Catalans from Real Madrid in second place. So, Barça need 18 more to mathematically clinch the title. In other words, six wins. That, of course, assuming that Real Madrid don't drop any points of their own along the way.

12 points up for grabs in April

In April, Barça have two games at Spotify Camp Nou and two on the road. The first two are both trips to Madrid, first to face Getafe and then a midweek date with Rayo Vallecano.

And then there are two games at home, both against teams locked in the battle for Champions League berths, the in-form Atlético Madrid and Real Betis.

May to finish the job

In all probability, if Barça are indeed to go on to win the championship, it wouldn't be confirmed until May. That month begins with a game at Spotify Camp Nou against an Osasuna side that will probably be more concerned about the upcoming Copa del Rey Final. Real Sociedad and Mallorca will also be coming to town in May.

The away trips are the short hop over to the RCD Stadium to be entertained by struggling Espanyol, and much longer trip to Valladolid.

One would hope that by June everything will be decided, but there will still be one more fixture in case it isn't, and that's another one away from home, at Balaídos against Celta Vigo.

Real Madrid's schedule

If and when Barça become champions will also depend on what Real Madrid achieve in their own games. And Carlo Ancelotti has some pretty tricky games to get his side through, including roads trips to such clubs as Real Sociedad, Sevilla and Valencia, while teams that have yet to visit the Santiago Bernabéu include Celta and Athletic Club. Any points dropped by the all-whites will move Barça even closer to the championship.
