Lewandowski leads La Liga for shots at goal

With 41 shots and 15 goals, the Pole is one of the most decisive strikers in La Liga

Robert Lewandowski is the top goalscorer in La Liga, with 15 goals to his name this season. He also leads the competition in shots, 41. It therefore come as no surprise that Xavi Hernández has viewed the Polish marksman as the main striker ever since he joined the team in the summer.

Shots and goals

Those impressive stats mean that on average, Lewandowski is turning 36.6% of his attempts into goals. That's roughly the same return rate as Karim Benzema, but Real Madrid's French forward has had fewer shots, 30, that have therefore produced fewer goals, 11.

Benzema's team-mate  Vinicius Junior has also shot 30 times this season, but fewer of his, 8, have found the net.

Getafe's Turkish striker Enes Ünal is currently second in the Liga goalscoring charts with 13 goals. But he has needed just 28 shots to achieve that tally, meaning that an impressive 46.4% of his shots have been turned into goals.

In the European Top 10

In Europe's 'big five' leagues, Robert Lewandowski is currently sixth for shots, topped only by Kylian Mbappé (58), Leo Messi (46), Harry Kane (46), Erling Haaland (44) and Jonathan David (43).
