PAS Alcoi 3-3 Barça: Draw to ensure top spot
Barça were unable to take the win away at PAS Alcoi but they did salvage a draw after going down 2-0 in the opening five minutes. The point is enough for Edu Castro's team to assure themselves of first place in the table in the regular season with four games still to play before the play offs.
Two quick goals
The home side, involved in the battle to finish in the top eight and make the players, started off intensely and Ferran Formatjé scored twice in the opening five moment to hand Alcoi the upper hand in the contest.
Barça reacted themselves with a Helder Nunes goal to make it 2-1 on 10 minutes, the Portuguese scoring from the spot after Marc Grau had won a penalty.
On 15 minutes Grau was involved again as he rounded off a move started by Bargalló to make it 2-2 and that is how the score stayed until half time.
Penalty save and Barça ahead
Just seconds into the second half Bargalló then gave away a penalty but Carles Grau in goal made a great triple save. The Portuguese connection of Nunes and Joao Rodrigues then combined to put Barça ahead for the first time in the game on the half hour mark.
Nevertheless, a late goal from Gonzalo Pérez levelled things up for Alcoi and denied Barça the win with first place assured and Alcoi still in the fight for a play off place.
