Crucial month ahead

The season is starting to enter its final phase and March poses plenty of challenges. Barça lead LaLiga by seven points from Real Madrid and are set to face the all-whites once in LaLiga and once in the Copa del Rey semifinal. There is also an international break during March.

As such, there are two key challenges during the third month of the year - maintain or extend the lead at the top of LaLiga and classify for the Copa del Rey final.

Two Clásicos in 17 days

Two Clásicos have already been played this season, with three still to come, two of which are just over 1 month apart. The first is already on the horizon for Barça, when the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi final will be played away at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium on 2 March, kickoff 9pm CET. The return leg will be at the Spotify Camp Nou on 5 April, kickoff 10pm CEST, when qualifying for the final on 6 May in La Cartuja will be the aim.

The remaining Clásico will be in the league and a chance for revenge after the 3-1 defeat at the Bernabéu stadium during the first round of games. Barça will take on Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou on 19 March, kickoff 9pm CEST.

In addition to the Clásicos, Barça will host a Valencia side in need of points to move away from the relegation zone on 5 March at 4.15pm CET, before visiting the San Mamés stadium to play Athletic Club on 12 March (kickoff 9pm CET), two key fixtures with a view to maintaining their lead over Real Madrid in LaLiga. All these matches come before the international break that starts on 20 March.
