FC Barcelona signs partnership agreement with Mexican television channel afizzionados
FC Barcelona has extended its worldwide network of partners through a new agreement with sports-themed television channel afizzionados, which broadcasts on the izzi 503/891 and Sky 545/1545 signals, and which thereby becomes an Official Regional Partner of FC Barcelona in Mexico for the next three seasons.
Thanks to this deal, the millions of afizzionados subscribers will be able to enjoy special content and experiences geared at Barça supporters, including draws for tickets for games at Spotify Camp Nou and men's and women's football shirts.
The agreement is another step forward in Barça's presence in Mexico, a country that has always had a close connection to the club, dating all the way back to 1937, when the club visited the country in one of its most important international tours of all time, at the height of the Spanish Civil War, and which was an important driver for the club in difficult times. One of the team's greatest ever players, Rafa Márquez, is now coach of Barça Atlètic, and the club was recently able to foster even stronger ties with the country when its travelling "Barça The Exhibition” appeared in Guadalajara and Monterrey in 2022.
Michel Bauer, general sales manager for izzi and Sky:
“This new deal with such a high calibre sports club as FC Barcelona is a unique opportunity for us to continue advancing our mission to become the first-choice sports channel among consumers. We are also delighted to offer a chance for all Barça fans in Mexico to get a bit closer to and be more united to the Catalan club.”
Juli Guiu, vice-president of FC Barcelona Marketing Area:
“Thanks to the agreement with afizzionats we can get a little closer to our Mexican supporters with audiovisual experiences and content associated to the football world. This will enhance the sense of belonging among Mexican fans, a country for which Barça has a special love.”
