Julián Araujo joins Barça Atlètic
FC Barcelona and LA Galaxy haver reached an agreement on the transfer of Julián Araujo to Barça Atlètic. The deal is for three and a half seasons through to 30 June 2026.
The player signed his new contract in the offices at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper this Friday in the company of vice-president Rafael Yuste; the director in charge of youth football, Joan Soler; director of football Mateu Alemany; director of sport Jordi Cruyff, and director of youth football, José Ramon Alexanco.
Julián Araujo will start training under Rafa Márquez in the next few days.
Speed and strength
Born in Lompoc (California) on 13 August 2001, Julián Araujo holds dual US and Mexican nationality, being the son of Mexican parents. Although he played for the USA at U18, U19, U20 and U23 level, Araujo made his senior international debut for Mexico. Before joining LA Galaxy, he spent his youth at the Barça Residency Academy USA, and also played for Central Coast Condors and Santa Barbara Soccer Club. He joined the Galaxy in 2018, first for the reserves and later in MLS, playing 98 games, giving 14 assists and scoring one goal.
Julián Araujo brings plenty of speed and strength to the Barça Atlètic squad, being widely admired for his ability to wins duels and for having a skilful touch on the ball.
