Lewandowski's great record against English teams

Robert Lewandowski has never played Manchester United before but has a great record against English clubs

Robert Lewandowski will be one of the main weapons that Barça will be unleashing against Man United in the Europa League this Thursday at Spotify Camp Nou. The Polish striker has a fine record against English clubs, with ten goals and seven assists in 17 games. But this will be the first time he has ever faced the Red Devils.

Goal a game

That works out as participation in a goal a game against Premiership sides for Lewandowski.

His first goal against an English side was in 2013 for Borussia Dortmund, a last minute winner against Arsenal. He'd score three more times against the Gunners as a Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski has faced Manchester City four times. He scored at the Etihad Stadium in a 3-2 defeat in the Champions League group stage of 2014/15. Despite that loss, his team advanced to the semis, where they went out to eventual winners Barça.

His best stats are against Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. He has scored three goals and given two assists in just two games against the Blues. And he scored a brace in the only game he ever played against Spurs.

The only English side that he failed to score against was Liverpool.

One goal in Europa League

This won't be the first time the Pole has played in the Europa League, but it his first return since 2010 when he was in it for Borussia Dortmund, only scoring once against Karpaty Lviv of Ukraine.

Lewandowski has played 12 games in the Europa League, six for Lech Poznan and six for Dortmund. He has never progressed beyond the round of 32, for Lech Poznan were eliminated at this stage by Udinese and Dortmund failed to get out of a group that also included Sevilla, PSG and Karpaty Lviv.
