Barça 82-54 Río Breogán: Win before the Copa del Rey

Barça with a tenth game in a row in the Liga ACB, now 14 in total

Nothing like a win with one of this season's targets in the horizon, namely the Copa del Rey. Barça dominated from start to finish to maintain their good form in the league, defeating Río Breogán 82-54. Laprovittola proved key for the Catalans with 16 points and 3 assists. Sergi Martínez also returned to the Palau Blaugrana for the first time in four months after featuring in Bologna.

Barça set the tempo

Barça started with the bit between their teeth, going up 10-0 early on. The Galicians didn't even score until the 6th minute, coming back slightly with two quick transitions (10-6 min. 7). However, the Catalans were comfortable and led by 8 after the first quarter.

The second quarter saw much of the same, with the same lead maintained despite Barça scoring more slowly, score at the break 35-24.

Comfortably closed out

The second half saw the Catalans shut down the Galicians, who only managed to score 3 points in the first five minutes (44-29, min. 25). Barça were moving the ball marvellously and the Palau Blaugrana crowd were enjoying themselves, especially when Jan Vesely scored a slam dunk, 58-37 at the end of the third.

The final quarter saw Barça finish the job after dominating the game, 8 points by Jokubaitis helping to seal the win. Final score, 82-54.

Next up, the Copa del Rey quarterfinal against Unicaja at the Pabellón Olímpico de Badalona (16 February, 21.30pm CET).
