FC Barcelona Women to face AS Roma in the Champions League
FC Barcelona Women will face AS Roma in the quarter finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League. The draw took place in Nyon, Switzerland on Monday and paired together the Catalans with the Italians for a tie which will see the first leg take place on Tuesday 21 March at 9pm CET in the Olympic Stadium in Rome with the second leg to come on Wednesday 29 March at 6.45pm CET at Spotify Camp Nou.
The two sides have not met before in European competition and it will not be an easy tie for the blaugrans with the Italians the surprise package of this season's competition, finishing second in their group behind German club Wolfsburg. Roma are currently top of the Italian league and their squad contains two former blauganes in Vicky Losada and Andressa Alves.
The draw at UEFA's headquarters also saw the semi-final line ups decided. The winner of the tie between Barça and Roma will face the winner of the Olympique Lyonnais v Chelsea quarter final with a possible second leg to come at home.

“When you get to the quarter-finals, any tie is tough. Whilst Roma are making their first appearance in the competition, they are going very well in the Italian league. They gave Wolfsburg a fright and we know it will be a competitive tie. We have looked at their team and we have to prepare well to go into the tie in good shape."
