Three consecutive 1-0 wins for the first time in over 42 years
The win at Girona (0-1) confirmed a notable stat. Barça's close victory and clean sheet was the third in a row after the wins against Getafe in LaLiga (1-0) and Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey (1-0).
The first time in almost 43 years, the last time Barça won 1-0 (or 0-1) for three consecutive games was back in 1980 against Atlético Madrid (1-0), Las Palmas (0-1) and Athletic Bilbao (1-0). All three games were in LaLiga and Helenio Herrera was coach at the time.
It's also worth noting that this is also the first three game winning run with a one goal margin since September 2015. The opponents then were Athletic Bilbao (0-1), Malaga (1-0) and Atlético Madrid (1-2). Again all three were LaLiga games, but this time Luis Enrique was coach, and a goal was conceded in one of the games.
Ter Stegen, impregnable
This clean sheet now makes it 14 in 18 games for Ter Stegen. Simply outstanding numbers. The German stopper has only conceded a goal in four LaLiga games as well as the fewest in the competition with only six goals.
Clearly this means he has the most clean sheets in the LaLiga, but he is also leading the way in the major European leagues. Juventus and Newcastle both have 12, two behind Barça's 14. Ter Stegen is only conceding a goal every 270 minutes, i.e. every three games. Awesome.
