Barça are in Riyadh
FC Barcelona are now in Riyadh. The blaugrana squad landed on Tuesday evening local time in Saudi Arabia where they will take on Real Betis on Thursday in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup.
The six hour journey began on Tuesday morning at El Prat airport in Barcelona and ended at King Khalid Airport at around 8.15pm local time.
The Barça party was led by FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta and first vice president Rafael Yuste and members of the Board of Directors Xavier Puig and Joan Soler as well as director of football Mateu Alemany.
Before boarding the plane and following the training session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, coach Xavi Hernández named a 24 man squad for the Super Cup tournament in Saudi Arabia.
Wednesday training and pre-game media duties
With Barça now at their base in Riyadh, Wednesday will see the team train and undertake media duties ahead of Thursday's semi-final against Betis, kick off 8pm CET.
Xavi Hernández and Sergi Roberto will appear in a press conference at 3.15pm with a training session to follow at the Prince Faisal stadium.
