Lewandowski in Poland squad for World Cup
Robert Lewandowski has been named in the list of players that Czesław Michniewicz will be taking to Qatar. Not that it comes as any kind of surprise, the FC Barcelona striker being the biggest star in a team that will be hoping to do a lot better than a first round exit at Russia 2018.
Second World Cup
Lewandowski was in the Poland team that lost to Senegal and Colombia, meaning final day victory over Japan counted for nothing. Then a Bayern Munich player, he failed to score in any of those three games. He has, however, been on target four times at the European Championship.
Since making his debut against San Marino in 2008, Lewandowski had made 134 appearances and scored 76 goals for his country, both of which are Polish records.
Poland are in Group C, where they'll be starting against Mexico, before facing Saudi Arabia and finally Argentina.
