Marcos Alonso and Pablo Torre score first goals for FC Barcelona
Marcos Alonso and Pablo Torre both scored their first ever goals for FC Barcelona in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Viktoria. The former opened the scoring in the Czech Republic and the latter got the fourth and final goal of the night, making them the 12th and 13th different players to score for the team this season.
For Marcos Alonso it was also his first ever goal in the Champions League, a fine piece of opportunism after Ansu Fati's original shot was blocked by the home keeper. In UEFA competitions, Alonso had only previously scored in the Europa League, twice for Chelsea and once for Fiorentina. He hadn't scored at all since netting against Leicester City on May 19 in last season's Premier League.
On the night of his first ever start for Barça, Pablo Torre also brilliantly converted a Raphinha assist to make it 4-2. But in scoring the spectacular goal, he also managed to hurt himself and had to be replaced by Álvaro Sanz. Torre had not scored a competitive goal since netting a hat-trick for Racing Santander against Rayo Majadahonda.
13 different scorers
In all competitions, there have now been 13 different goalscorers for Barça this season:
Lewandowski - 18
Ferran Torres - 5
Dembélé - 4
Ansu Fati - 3
Pedri & Sergi Roberto - 2
De Jong, Eric Garcia, Raphinha, Marcos Alonso, Kessie, Memphis & Pablo Torre - 1
Of Liga teams, only Real Sociedad (14) has had more different names on the scoresheet, while Valencia match Barça's tally of 13.
