Athletic Club 0-3 FC Barcelona: Triumphant return

Lezama is not an easy place to go, and beating Athletic Club proved quite a task, but the women eventually got the job done with a three-goal win on the day that the team also happily welcomed back Aitana Bonmatí from injury.

After a frustrating first-half, in which the Catalans looked the stronger of the two sides but couldn't find a breakthrough, and Torrejón, Pina, Patri and Geyse all came close, the goals finally started flowing in the second 45 minutes.

Five minutes after the interval, Claudia Pina finally had the ball in the back of the Basque net, and released from the pressure of needing to get off the mark, the Barça women suddenly looked a lot surer of themselves. Geyse extended the lead, Rolfö played some of the most outstanding football of her season so far, and then Mariona made it three with six minutes to go.

That's four wins out of four in the league as attention now switches to the Champions League curtain raiser against Benfica on Wednesday.
