Pedri says early goal would be 'ideal'
Barça midfielder Pedri is under no illusions about the the task that lies ahead for the team on Wednesday against Inter Milan, a game that Xavi's side really need to win to boost their hopes of making it out of the group stages of this season's Champions League. "We have to improve a lot of things but the game against Inter is a final," said the teenager before adding: "We are calm because we know we have the quality to do it."
Pedri also touched on the important role of the fans in his appearance before the press at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper: "I don't doubt for a minute they will be there to support us and we will move forward together." Asked about the team's lack of goals at the moment, the midfielder did not hesitate with his answer: "I am sure the team will start scoring. We have a striker that we all know has the qualities to score goals and we will try to help him. Xavi asks us to get in the box more and we are working on it."
The Tenerife native also mentioned what for him will be key on Wednesday against the Italians: "It would be ideal to score early, to wear them out and take advantage of the chances that come our way."
