Real Sociedad B 2–0 Barça Atlètic: First defeat of the season
Six games into the Primera RFEF and Barça Atlètic have finally been beaten. Two goals either side of half/time condemned the blaugrana, who had chances to get back into it, but failed to take them.
Next up is game at noon CEST on Sunday away to Atlético Baleares.
Two sides coached by respective legends in Xabi Alonso and Rafa Márquez both sought to play possession football without either of them exactly creating a flurry of chances in the first half. But the deadlock was broken when what looked like a half-chance at best was sent flying in by Magunazelia out of reach of Nil Ruiz's grasp.
Another speculative but successful long range strike, this time from Pablo Marin, doubled the home lead.
But Barça refused to surrender and had plenty of chances to get back into the game, the best two probably beings the ones for Luis Cruz and Àlex Valle, the former hitting the crossbar and the latter kept out by home keeper Marrero.
