Five statistical categories where FC Barcelona are top
Barça have started LaLiga very well and they remain unbeaten after six games. They are currently second in the table with 16 out of 18 possible points, just two behind the leader, Real Madrid.
This good start has also provided a number of good records in both attack and defence, with FC Barcelona leading the way on certain stats. Let's take a closer look:
18 goals scored
The Catalans have scored 18 goals in just six games - an average of three per game. They are the top scorers in LaLiga, followed by Real Madrid with 17 and Athletic Club with 12.
And Robert Lewandowski is the leading goalscorer in the league, with eight goals in six games. The other 10 goals were scored by Dembélé (2), Ansu Fati (2), Raphinha, Memphis, Pedri, De Jong, Eric Garcia and Sergi Roberto.
Just one goal against
Barça have great defensive records too, having only conceded one goal. Ter Stegen has been superb between the sticks, and helped by the team's great defensive efforts, the German is currently the "Zamora" in LaLiga having only conceded one goal in six games. Only Isak scored for Real Sociedad at Anoeta in the 1-4 win. Rulli from Villarreal is his closest challenger with two goals conceded.
Five clean sheets
This also means that Barça has five clean sheets in six games, four of which have come in the last four games (Valladolid, Sevilla, Cádiz and Elche). Added to the shutout against Rayo Vallecano in the first game of the season, that's now five clean sheets for Ter Stegen, the most in LaLiga. Villarreal are next with four.
66.11% possession
Xavi's squad also have the highest possession per game, with an average of 66.11%, well ahead of Valencia on 61.9% and Real Madrid with 57.06%.
The team with the most shots
Across the six games, Barça have taken 119 shots, with 46 on target. The Catalans are ahead of the other 19 teams on both stats, and have been the most dangerous team. As well as league leading scorer Lewandowski, Alejandro Balde is also leading the assist charts with three, the same as Guillamon, Kang-In and Joao Félix.
