Kounde: 'We're excited'

Jules Kounde is on the point of playing his first Champions League game in a Barça jersey against the Czech champions at 9m CEST on Wednesday.

“The team is really looking forward to it because it's a lovely competition and everyone wants to play in it and win it. We are on a good run and we want to start the Champions League in the best possible way, with a win."

"We know we have a great chance of qualifying from the group. But it'll be very competitive and difficult because there are some good teams. But I'm excited. I play football for games like these." 

"We have a big squad, with a lot of talent and we can create a lot of danger. I'm sure a lot of teams are looking at us and taking us seriously. But the squad can progress even further with the ideas that Xavi is getting across. There's quality and we want to compete hard in this Champions League."

On a more personal and tactical note, the French defender added that "I'm not uncomfortable in any position, although I like centre back best. But if the boss wants to put me at full-back then I'll do my job."
