Allan Simonsen
Simonsen (Vejle, Denmark, 1952) was a right winger much loved by the fans
Known as 'Simonet' by the Barça fans due to his diminutive stature and his love of the Club, Allan Simonsen was not just a great player, Ballon d'Or in 1977, but also a real cult hero for FC Barcelona followers.
The Danish winger was quick and tricky on the ball. Technically gifted, he was two footed and had a nose for goal equal to that of any striker of the day. An excellent dribbler and with great vision, he was a real presence on and off the field.
Following the signing of the Argentine star Diego Maradona in 1982, Simonsen left the Club to sign for Charlton Athletic in England, not wanting to lose his place in the side to the newcomer.
