Yulimar Rojas continues to dominate

The FC Barcelona athlete claims her third triple jump world title in Eugene, Oregon in the USA

Yulimar Rojas has continued to make history. FC Barcelona’s Venezuelan triple jumper has won gold at the World Athletics Championship in Oregon, thus becoming the first ever woman to win three outdoor world titles in a row.

She did with a 15.47 metre leap, her personal best for the season and the second highest mark ever registered at the championships, just 3 cm short of the record set by Inessa Kravets of Ukraine in 1995.

Rojas also won the indoor world title in Belgrade earlier this year with a world record jump of 15.74 metres.

In Oregon, Jamaican Shanieka Ricketts was over half a metre short of Barça’s athlete with a jump of 14.89 metres and Tori Franklin of the USA took bronze with 14.72 metres.
