FC Barcelona and Ali Zein go their separate ways
Egyptian handball star to leave the club after a year packed with success
Left back Ali Zein is leaving FC Barcelona after a wonderful season including victory in the EHF Champions League. The Egyptian came to the club last summer from Al Sharjaj in the Emirates and is now departing having fully achieved what he came here to do.
Zein has excelled in Carlos Ortega’s side, working brilliantly alongside Thiagus Petrus in the centre of defence as the team won no fewer than six different trophies.
He also contributed 60 goals in 30 games in the Liga Sacyr Asobal and 12 in 17 games in Europe.
FC Barcelona wishes the player every success in both his personal and professional future and thanks him for his services in his year at the club
