Double debuts for Arnau Tenas and Antonio Aranda
Arnau Tenas and Antonio Aranda will never forget Barça’s end-of-season trip for many reasons, but the most important for the goalkeeper and the Barça B midfielder is that they both got to make their first team debuts in the second half of the 3-2 win against the A-League All Stars.
Arnau Tenas
The keeper, just days short of his 21st birthday, replaced Marc Ter Stegen at the break and had plenty to do in his 45 minutes on the pitch. After just seven minutes he was beaten twice by quick moves from the Australians.
Tenas, who played 18 games for the reserves this season, went on to make several important interventions, including one right at the end that secured the win rather than sending the game into a penalty shootout.
Antonio Aranda
Aranda, meanwhile, came on in the 66th minute as a substitute for his B team colleague Álvaro Sanz. There were several flashes of brilliance from the midfielder, the best of all being the zig-zagging run that was culminated by Ansu Fati and meant the winner for the Catalans. Aranda played 27 games for Barça B in the season just ended, 19 of those as a starter.
