Dika Mem renews with Barça until 2027
FC Barcelona and Dika Mem (Paris, 1997) have agreed a contract extension up to summer 2027. As such, the right-back will continue to wear the Barça colours for a further five seasons.
Dika Mem joined the Club in summer 2016 just short of his 19th birthday as one of handball's most promising talents. Six seasons later, the Frenchman has become one of the best players in the world, performing at elite levels in defence and particularly in attack.
33 titles as a Barça player
Established as the team's third captain, Dika Mem's new contract will ensure he spends over a decade featuring in the Palau Blaugrana. The right back has already won 33 titles wearing the Barça jersey, including 6 leagues and one Champions League, and the opportunity is there to continue making history.
Dika Mem: "I am very happy to renew with the Club"
After renewing his contract with Barça, the Frenchman stated “I feel proud. I am very happy to renew with the Club. This is what I always wanted since I first arrived. I am very happy and now I can focus on other things”.
Developing as a player while at Barça, Mem is clear that he wants to create history with the Club. “I feel really good here, it's like my second home. I've been here for a while now. I have grown as a player and a person, and I want to keep developing in both aspects. I have always said that I want to create history with this Club, leave my mark on the sport, as well as on Barça itself. This renewal means I can be here for many years to come".
Barça's right back is highly ambitious and wants to continue winning trophies with the Club. “I want to play for Barça, but I also want to win. I think we have everything here to win: the squad, the staff, external people, everyone, and the fans help us. We have tough challenge left to win (the Champions League), but I believe in the Club and our players”.
