Barça Oscars: Best Nutmeg

And the four nominees are... Vote and you could win a shirt signed by the four captains!

After the Oscar for Best Performance, this Wednesday we’re offering you the chance to vote for the Best Nutmeg. Four exquisite examples to enjoy on video and you can vote for your favourite and enter a draw to win a shirt signed by the four captains!

From Sunday 27 March we’ll announce the winners of the five categories, one a day on the official FC Barcelona website.

So, the nominees for Best Nutmeg are...

Messi vs Spahic

One of Leo Messi’s finest goals was in the 2-0 defeat of Sevilla at the Sánchez Pizjuan in 2012. After slotting the ball between the legs of Spahic the Argentine superstar then lobbed Andrés Palop with a piece of sheer magic.

Xavi vs Guardado

Barça’s 5-1 defeat of Valencia in 2012/13 came with this spectacular nutmeg coming from a back-heel flick on the turn by Xavi Hernández to totally flummox Andrés Guardado.

Suárez vs David Luiz

This 3-1 win in Paris came courtesy of one goal from Neymar and a brace from Luis Súarez. The Uruguayan’s first came after a brilliant piece of skill to defy David Luiz, who was powerless to prevent Suárez from scoring.

Messi vs Milner

One of the best remembered Barça nutmegs was this one by Leo Messi on Milner. In the 37th minute of a 3-1 defeat of Manchester City (3-1), the Argentinian left his English marker standing with a deft touch with the outstep of his left boot.
