FC Barcelona B 2–1 UE Cornellà: Vital win
FC Barcelona B have earned three much-needed points at the Johan Cruyff. It was a show of character at home to a UE Cornellà side that bettered them by just one point before the game, with both goals coming in the first quarter of an hour after the break, with Fabio Blanco not only scoring his first goal for the team but also claiming the second.
Ferran Jutglà was also outstanding, and in the first half had one goal disallowed for offside and another denied by an excellent reflex save from visiting keeper Lucas.
Barça B deserved the lead against a side that seemed happy to play for a draw, and Blanco finally broke the deadlock with a lethal strike.
But in their first real attack of the game, Cornellà quickly equalised. It was suddenly raining goals, because a lovely cross from Ez Abde was nicely met by Blanco to restore Barça’s lead in practically the next move.
Barça B managed their lead brilliantly, with long periods of possession that prevented Cornellà from creating much threat of an equaliser, and the team can feel very satisfied indeed with today’s performance.
