Ferran Torres not obsessing about finding the net
Barça striker Ferran Torres is clear about one thing. "I am happy, the coach has confidence in me and I am not worried about scoring. You have to work and the results will come. I am on the right path because goalscoring is about streaks, sometimes it goes in, other times not. The key is to be consistent, the be right mentally. When one goes in, they all will go in - you have to be positive," said the blaugrana.
The January signing was talking via videoconference at an event organised by iNuba on the impact of technology in society via sport and health.
Ferran continued: "There is a lot of focus on goals but it's not all about that. I think I am bringing a lot of things to the team. It's true that I am an attacking player but there are other factors such as helping defensively, creating goals, link up play...that's all important too."
Positive talk
On the team's recent improvement, Ferran Torres recognised that Barça are gradually "turning the situation around."
"We have a young team and I think we will do fun things together," he added.
Although the battle for the league appears out of reach, the striker is not giving up just yet: "When you come to Barça you know that it is one of the best teams in the world and that every season you have to challenge for each trophy. Whilst there is chance, we will give it everything until the last minute."
To finish off, Ferran added his voice to those recently who have been marvelling at the performances of his team mate Pedri. "Every time he goes out on to the field, he shows just what a player he is. He is different and he could put his stamp on this generation," concluded the Valencian.
