Ter Stegen: 'Getting through would mean a lot to us'
The FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc Ter Stegen appeared in a press conference on the eve of the Europa League play off second leg against Napoli. The German cast his eye over the tie and his team's current form:
Personal form
"I always try to give everything and sometime it goes well, other not so. That's football - there are some good times and others not so good but I always try to give 100%. I feel good and the team is in good form."
"When you get injured you have to work and recover properly and I'm doing that. The results will come, the same for the team. I am happy with my performances - there are a lot of things that I am doing well and a lot where I can improve but I am going to keep working hard to be able to help and keep improving."
Tie against Naples
"It would mean a lot for us to get through. We are playing a lot better than a few months ago. You can see the Club's identity on the field. We have a lot of young players and they are learning to deal with these type of games where there is no margin for error."
Team's form
"In the last few weeks we have taken a step forward and we have improved in a lot ways. Xavi has a clear idea for the way we play but we can't change from one day to the next. We are changing, enjoying ourselves and the results will come. When you buy into what you are doing and you know what you have to, you are calm."
Both teams' form coming into the game
"Napoli drew on Monday but that is another competition; we are two top level teams and we know we are playing well. The win at the weekend gave us some breathing space, but that does not mean everything. They are a quality team and no game is easy and we will have to work hard and give everything to be able to win. We hope we can win in 90 minutes but we are prepared for everything."
