Dani Alves called up to the Brazil squad
Dani Alves is back in the Brazil squad. Coach Tite has called up Barça's number 8 for the next round of the South American section of World Cup qualifiers, meaning the talented player is back in the Seleção squad after an absence of four months.
So, after his second debut with FC Barcelona, the right-back is potentially going to wear the Brazil jersey again, this time for two qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Tite's squad have actually already booked their place in the tournament so Alves and co will play against Ecuador on Thursday January 27 away in Quito, and against Paraguay on Tuesday February 1 home in Belo Horizonte, with the peace of mind of having already qualified for the international competition.
Let's not forget that Barça's number 8 has already been involved in qualifying, having played 27 minutes in Brazil's win against Peru on September 10, 2021, actually the last time he featured for Brazil. After playing three times for Barça after his re-debut, featuring one assist against Granada, Dani Alves is back in the Brazil squad.
