Marc ter Stegen: 200 Liga games for FC Barcelona
Against Granada on Saturday, Marc-Andre ter Stegen made it to 200 league appearances for FC Barcelona.
Eight remarkable years
The German joined the club from Borussia Mönchengladbach eight seasons ago, and after first vying with Claudio Bravo for the place between the Barça sticks, he eventually made the position his own and has gone on to become one of the greatest goalies ever to represent the Catalan giants.
In total he has played 302 games:
La Liga: 200
Champions League: 71
Copa del Rey: 24
Spanish Super Cup: 6
European Super Cup: 1
He is currently fourth in the list of Germans with the most games in La Liga, although he is just 15 short of Uli Stielike (215). Bernd Schuster still leads the way with 316 games.
He has won 14 major titles with the club, including four Ligas, five Copas del Rey and one Champions League.
Great games
Just the other day his amazing last-minute save against Mallorca meant Barça were able to hold on for three absolutely essential points.
But perhaps Ter Stegen’s most memorable performance of all was in the 3-2 victory at the Santiago Bernabéu in the 2016/17 season, when he made an incredible 12 saves, including some absolute marvels that are well worth admiring once again.
