First training session for Ferran Torres
The FC Barcelona first team returned to training on Tuesday following the short holiday break with the latest addition to the squad, Ferran Torres, Pedri, Ansu Fati and Memphis, all involved as they continue their respective recoveries from injury.
For his part, Torres trained apart from the rest of the squad as he recovers from a foot injury sustained in October. Following the Covid protocols set down by La Liga the squad trained in small groups in this first session.
Absent from the session were Gerard Piqué, Ronald Araujo, Sergiño Dest, Neto, Philippe Coutinho, Alejandro Balde and Ousmane Dembélé. Piqué, Araujo, Dest, Coutinho and Neto missed the session with the coach's permission with Alejandro Balde absent following La Liga protocols having tested positive in an antigen test prior to training.
Ousmane Dembélé did not train having reported feeling unwell to the Club's Medical Staff and he is awaiting the results of a PCR test. Also missing after positive PCR tests for Covid-19 were Lenglet, Dani Alves and Jordi Alba.
In the case of Yusuf Demir, the Austrian missed the session with the Club's permission as he awaits a decision on his future.
