Dani Alves is back home

The Brazilan is officially presented at Camp Nou for the second time in his career in front of over 10,000 fans

Being presented to the fans at Camp Nou as a new Barça signing was so good for Dani Alves he decided to do it all over again. The legendary FC Barcelona right back was unveiled at the blaugranes' home for the second time in his career in front of a total of 10,378 fans.

The sequel had echoes of the first event with the Brazilian smiling his way through from start to finish and with the fans eager to see him and to hear what he had to say. In keeping with his character, Alves appeared for his presentation wearing flip flops, just as he did back in 2008.

Later the Brazilian took them off saying "we cannot change the way we are." "I couldn't step out on to the pitch again any other way as this place has made me what I am," he added.

Being back in front of the Barça fans was the moment he had been waiting for. Dani Alves and his smile were back in front of more than 10,000 fans and, of course, the FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta. Both men signed the contract that ties the Brazilian to the Club once again.

A visibly excited and emotional Dani Alves added, "I am here once again. The last time I grabbed the microphone I said that I did not know how long this dream would last, or it had come to an end, but now we can say no! You made me feel like one of you and I have come back because I am one of you." He added: "Between us all we have to put Barça back where they belong."

"He represents spirit and character"

The Alves festival continued with a lap of honour containing chants and waves as well as some thoughts from President Joan Laporta which summed up the day perfectly: "Dani represents the spirit and character and we are delighted that he is here."

The icing on the cake was to see the full back in the Barça strip once again. Nobody had to show him the way to the dressing room and he returned wearing his new number 8 shirt. "I chose it because you have to pay tribute in life. I want to do it for Hristo Stoichkov and the great Andrés Iniesta," he confessed.

With the blaugrana colours that so represent him and with his boots on, Dani Alves continued to wave to the crowd in boyish excitement. We can safely say that he is back.
