Xavi: 'I'm returning to my lifetime club'

"Culers, I’m coming home!"

That’s how Xavi Hernandez addressed the Barça family after being announced as the new first team manager.

He admits that it’s a challenge in difficult times but “I can’t put into words how excited I am to go back to defending the crest that I bear on my heart. To go back to feeling the buzz of the Camp Nou from within and once again hearing the cries of support from the fans.”

His post oozes with hope, eagerness to work and commitment as he thanks the club “for putting its faith back in me and all the fans who believed that I should be the one to take on such an important role.”

Xavi has agreed to sign for the club for the remainder of this season and for two more after that. He is expected to arrive in Barcelona this weekend and he will be officially presented on Monday 8 November at midday at an open event to be held in the Camp Nou stadium.
