The challenges ahead
As we head into November, FC Barcelona already has its full Liga and Champions League schedule set out, the only pending issue being the exact time of the final game of the month against Villarreal.
Saturday 30 October: FC Barcelona v Alavés (Liga, Camp Nou, 9.00pm CEST)
But before that there is one more game in October, the last before the end of summer time, where Barça will be looking to get their Liga campaign back on track after suffering two consecutive defeats.
Tuesday 2 November: Dynamo Kyiv v FC Barcelona (UCL, Olympiyskiy, 9.00pm CET)
Immediately after that, the team will be heading off to Ukraine. After getting the job done when the sides met at Camp Nou, they have little option but to win this one too in order to keep the gap between themselves and Benfica tight.
Saturday 6 November: Celta Vigo v FC Barcelona (Liga, Balaidos, 4.15pm CET)
The week ends with a trip to Galicia, where Barça will be hoping to secure their first away win of the league season before the competition takes another break for international fixtures.
Saturday 20 November: FC Barcelona v Espanyol (Liga, Camp Nou, 9.00pm CET)
Once the break is over, it’s derby time at Camp Nou. This fixture was absent from the calendar last season, but the parakeets have flown straight back up to the top flight and will be relishing the chance to take on their local rivals once more.
Tuesday 23 November: FC Barcelona v Benfica (UCL, Camp Nou, 9.00pm CET)
Hot on the heels of the derby comes perhaps the most decisive game of the month. With Bayern Munich in rampant form, in all likelihood this game will be a practical head-to-head to decide who will be joining the Germans in the last sixteen.
Saturday 27/Sunday 28 November: Villarreal v FC Barcelona (Liga, Estadio de la Cerámica, TBA)
To end the month comes what’s never an easy trip to Villarreal, the exact time and date of which has yet to be announced.
