A left-footer with talent to burn
Demir was quick to show his skills with this left foot, playing in every pre-season match for coach Ronald Koeman. Showing great close control, he brought bravery and confidence to the Barça attack, highlighted by his dribbling and inch-perfect passes.
After the friendlies came his official first-team debut in La Liga at San Mamés. No mean feat because, aged just 18 years and 80 days old, Demir became the youngest overseas player to debut in the domestic league with Barça since Leo Messi aged 17 years and 114 days old in 2004. He also became the second Austrian to pull on the Barça jersey for an official first-team game since Hans Krankl.
His next notable step was against Granada on 20 September 2021 when he took to the pitch wearing 11 for his first start in an official first-team match for FC Barcelona.
