Luuk de Jong: 'Incredible to play for Barça'
Luuk de Jong has arrived in Barcelona. The Dutch striker, on loan to the club from Sevilla, arrived in his new home city on Sunday afternoon and paid a visit to the Ciutat Esportiva, where he spoke to the club media.
"It's incredible being a Barça player and it's amazing to be here" he said. "I look forward to doing a lot of big things for this team and I can't wait to get started."
"There are lots of different forwards here, but I'm tall and I'm good with my head. I know I won't play all the time, but I have a good relationship with Koeman from playing for Holland, and he'll know when he needs a player like me who's good in the air."
"Frenkie and Memphis are great people and I also know Ter Stegen from Borussia Mönchengladbach so I don't think it will be hard to settle in."

Monday also promises to be a busy day. He’ll begin with medical tests in the morning and is expected to join the players that aren’t away on international duty for the 5.15pm CEST training session.
Liga experience
De Jong has played 69 league games for Sevilla since joining the club from PSV in 2019, scoring 10 goals and giving two assists. Having won four Dutch league titles, he was part of the Andalusians’ Europa League winning side in 2020.
He’ll be wearing the number 17 shirt at Barça, a number previously worn by Trincão (2020/21) and Griezmann (2019/20).
