Agreement with Sevilla for the loan of Luuk de Jong
FC Barcelona and Sevilla FC have reached an agreement for the loan of Luuk de Jong until 30 June 2022. The Club will pay the player's wages and have an option to make the deal permanent.
Experience in La Liga
The Dutch striker comes to Barça after having played 69 games in La Liga with Sevilla, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists.
De Jong came to La Liga from PSV Eindhoven where he scored 122 goals in just 204 official appearances. He was top scorer in the Eredivisie with 28 goals in the 2018/19 season.
The striker has also played for De Graafschap, Newcastle United, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Twente Enschede and Sevilla.
Luuk de Jong has won trophies both at club and European level. In the Netherlands he has won four league titles with Twente and PSV and at Sevilla he was part of the squad that won the Europa League title in 2020.
A Netherlands international, De Jong made his debut for the ‘Oranje’ in February 2011 and since then he has made 38 appearances for the national team. The striker was also part of the Dutch side that were runners up in the UEFA Nations League under Ronald Koeman.
